ABOUT ME

My name is Armin Ariana, and I am an accredited clinical sexologist (Psychosexual Therapist) in Queensland, Australia, with over two decades of experience in medical practice, research and education, including helping individuals and couples improve their sex life and sexual well-being.

My passion for sexual health and sexology began early on in my career as a medical doctor (MD). I witnessed firsthand the impact that sexual problems can have on an individual's quality of life. As a general practitioner, I realised that there was a real need for compassionate and expert guidance in this area, and I decided to dedicate my career to helping others overcome these challenges.

​

Over the years, I studied psychology (GradDipPsych, Monash Uni), obtained a Master of Sexology (MMed; The University of Sydney) and received a PhD (Griffith University) while developing a reputation for providing personalized and effective treatment plans that are tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals.

 

I understand that sexual issues can be sensitive and difficult to discuss, which is why I offer a safe and confidential space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their concerns. I am also a proud supporter of LGBTQ clients and their families. I treat loving couples, families, and transgender people with the dignity, respect, and affirmation they deserve.

What sets me apart from other sexologists and sex therapists is my comprehensive approach to sexual health. I believe that sexual health is not just about treating problems - it's about promoting overall well-being and enhancing pleasure. That's why I take a holistic approach to sexual health, incorporating elements of sex education, mindfulness, and relationship-building into my treatment plans.

My goal is to empower my clients with the knowledge and tools they need to achieve a more fulfilling sex life and improve their overall well-being.

I am now the president of the Society of Australian Sexologists (QLD branch), a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and an Associate Professor in Medical Education at Griffith University School of Medicine & Dentistry with a special research interest in the field of Sexual Pleasure, Performance Anxiety, Oro-genital sexual practices and LGBTQIA+ Allyship in Health Education.
